the East Coast, Ashforth is the founding and title sponsor
of Stamford Hospital’s Hope in Motion Walk, Run & Ride
for the Bennett Cancer Center. We also support the Business Council
of Fairfield County, Boys & Girls Club of Stamford, Stamford
Hospital, March of Dimes, Greenwich Audubon, Building with Books,
Literacy Volunteers of Stamford/Greenwich, Stamford School Readiness
Foundation, Volunteer Center of SW Fairfield County and more.
On
the West Coast, Ashforth is involved with many organizations including
the ALS Association of Oregon, Portland Schools Foundation, Portland
Business Alliance, Portland Streetcar, Oregon Historical Society,
Oregon Trout, Providence Children Center, Friends of Children,
Oregon Natural Step Network, US Green Building Council, Pittock
Mansion Society, the American Lung Association and more. Our employees
volunteer time weekly to read to children through the Oregon Children’s
Foundation – SMART program, volunteer quarterly at the Oregon Food
Bank and walk in the annual Leukemia & Lymphoma
Society’s Light the Night event. We also sponsor the annual Race
for the Roses which raises funds to pay for critical services to
vulnerable children and to increase community awareness about child
abuse prevention.
Ashforth
also encourages volunteerism to over 15,000 employees in 425 companies
at our owned and managed buildings. The Company organizes events
such as blood drives, recycling, clothing, and holiday gift drives
throughout the year.

Partnering
with Stamford Hospital, The Ashforth Company
has been the founding and title sponsor of Stamford Hospital’s
Hope in Motion Walk, Run & Ride for the Bennett Cancer
Center since 1996. Held in conjunction with National Cancer
Survivor’s Day, Hope in Motion brings together over 4,000
people who walk or run 5K in downtown Stamford, or ride
their bikes 50 or 100K through lower Fairfield County.
The
event raises funds to support prevention, treatment and
research programs at the Bennett Cancer Center and cancer
services throughout lower Fairfield County. Hope in Motion
raised $730,000 in its 12th year and since 1996 has raised
$5.2 million.

first public showing of Ashforth’s distinctive collection
celebrating the city of Portland. The 17 pieces are all
by Northwest artists and depict both the east and west
sides of the city and the Willamette River. Paintings,
mixed media and photographic works are included.

Honored With March of Dimes Real Estate Award |
The
Ashforth Company was honored with the March of Dimes Real Estate
Award For Outstanding Contributions to the Fairfield County
Real Estate Community. Ashforth has been a major sponsor of
the March of Dimes Real Estate event since 1996. The
event raised $535,000 in 2007 and since 1996 has raised $3.3
million for the March of Dimes whose mission is to improve
the health of babies by preventing birth defects and infant
mortality. |

Honored With Large Family Business of the Year Award and One
Hundred Years of Service |
The
Ashforth Company was honored with the Large Family Business
of the Year Award. The University of Connecticut’s Family
Business Program presented Ashforth with its Leadership Award
in recognition of Ashforth’s commitment to and attainment
of Family Business Excellence. Companies were judged on their
success in business, positive links between family and business,
multiple-generation involvement, contributions to community
and industry, and innovation.
The
University of New Haven Center for Family Business also presented
Ashforth with The Legacy of Service Award for sustaining a family
business and serving the Connecticut community for over one
century. |
