We will be stewards of our environment by taking responsible actions in our business, community and personal lives.

The Ashforth Company is committed to continuously assessing and improving our environmental performance. Over the years, Ashforth has made great strides on both coasts in reducing energy usage and increasing efficiency along with addressing the many pressing environmental concerns our country faces. This year, Ashforth announced that it is one of the first in New England and the first in Fairfield County, CT to adopt BOMA’s Market Transformation Energy Plan and 7-Point Challenge. The challenge was launched in July 2007 to reduce energy consumption used in commercial buildings by 30 percent by 2012. In addition, Ashforth is an ENERGY STAR Partner, committing to track our energy performance and reduce energy intensity, a member of the New England Renewable Energy Purchasers Program and a member of the U.S. Green Building Council.

ALBERT B. ASHFORTH, INC. – MANAGEMENT SERVICES
Ashforth’s management division has successfully implemented ways to expand and enhance the features, systems and programs that foster energy efficiency in its buildings. Ashforth’s headquarters, 707 Summer Street, won the 2005 BOMA Earth Award. Greenwich Plaza and Stamford Square’s building systems were re-commissioned to optimize efficiency – energy reduced by four percent. A new chiller was installed at Greenwich Plaza which will save $40,000 annually in energy costs. Motion switches for office lighting were installed and based on 2007 audits, a goal was set to reduce the amount of recyclables in dumpsters 50% by 2010. Additional efforts Ashforth has made to better reduce, reuse and recycle include emailing environmental saving tips to over 10,000 people working at its owned and third-party managed buildings, holding reuse and recycling drives at its buildings and requiring the use of eco-friendly cleaning products at all of the properties it owns or manages.
