As
part of Ashforth’s continuing capital improvements at Valley
Forge Office Center in Wayne, PA, the company recently completed
an impressive lobby and main entrance renovation at the 480 Building.
The new entrance was constructed on the side of the 480 Building
that faces the 500 Building and the existing lobby was relocated
to this area. “The renovation greatly enhances this 49,750
square foot building in our six- building complex and enables easier
access to the upper floors,” explained Frank Kozak, Vice President
of Ashforth’s management services division.
With
the installation of granite floor tiles and marble columns, a wood
panel scheme along the new and existing walls, ceiling tiles and
fluorescent lighting, the 480 Building lobby looks bright and inviting.
In order
to create the new entrance the building’s electrical system
was relocated to an area outside the building and an existing exterior
wall was removed and replaced with contemporary glass doors. A
canopy above the doors and a brick paved walkway were installed
creating a dramatic entrance to the newly renovated lobby.
In
addition to the lobby and main entrance renovation, the first floor
restrooms, elevator cabs, and the building’s landscaping
were upgraded, presenting a contemporary new look for the building.
A new security system was also installed.
The
elevator cabs and the first floor restrooms now have an updated
look. New sinks and faucets were installed in the restrooms along
with Corian countertops. The wall covering was replaced and the
stall partitions were painted giving the restrooms a renewed and
clean appearance. The elevator cabs were modernized with new ceiling
tiles, lighting and carpeting along with slate paneling covering
the walls. The elevator cabs have a new state-of-the-art electrical
system, which is represented by the modern control panels both
inside and outside of the elevator cabs.
Upon
completion of the lobby and entranceway numerous trees and flowering
shrubs were planted enhancing the building’s landscape. Two
concrete planters, which will contain pansies in the fall and winter
and impatiens throughout the summer, were added. In the fall of
2003, hundreds of tulip bulbs were planted around the building
and throughout the entire office complex.
“The
updates to the 480 building look tremendous and we’re excited
the project is finally complete. We know the renovations have been
disruptive at times and we truly appreciate everyone’s patience
and cooperation throughout the entire project,” said Property
Manager Beth Slanker.
