Ashforth’s Property Manager, Michelle Martin, was named
BOMA’s Property Manager of the Year, which honors a property
manager based on his or her portfolio, contribution towards enhancing
the value of the property, action this person has taken to enhance
him or herself professionally, and a demonstrated involvement in
the community and industry associations. In 2002, the award went
to Ashforth’s Property Manager, Wade Lange.
Last
year, Martin was responsible for the overall daily operations
of the Lloyd 700
Building, Oregon Square and the Nationwide Insurance
Building for a total of nearly 500,000 square feet in the Lloyd
District. In November of 2005, Martin took over the responsibility
of overall daily operations of the ODS Tower, which is a 400,000
square foot tower in downtown Portland. Martin oversaw building
improvements totaling $1.1 million in Lloyd Center Tower and
over $1.2 million in Oregon Square.
In
addition, Michelle added to Ashforth Pacific’s comprehensive
recycling program by setting up additional recycling opportunities
for all tenants. She coordinated new systems for recycling packaging
peanuts, batteries, and found a second use for discarded cell
phones. Used cell phones are collected and donated to Women’s
Strength, a program for empowering women. She also worked with
The Boys & Girls
Aid Society of Oregon and Albertina Kerr Centers to coordinate
one of their main fundraising events, The Race for the Roses,
a half marathon held in the Oregon Square Courtyard. Michelle
attended
planning meetings, attended the race day event and coordinated
parking for race participants and volunteers.
